Bacon, Shrmp, Poppers, Appetizer
Bacon?  Shrimp?  Cheese?  Jalapeno Poppers?  The answers is DUH! YES PLEASE.  At your next BBQ serve these can’t miss appetizers and sit back and enjoy the accolades.

Serves 12

Ingredients:

  • 6 Jalapenos (Halved with seeded and membrane removed)
  • 12 Shrimp (small to medium deveined and peeled )
  • Cream Cheese ( I used Garlic and Chive)
  • Shredded Sharp Cheddar
  • 6 strips of thick cut bacon (cut in half)
  • Your favorite BBQ spice rub
  •  Toothpicks
  • OPTIONAL- Your favorite BBQ sauce

Directions:

·         Fill your Jalapeno Canoes with the cream cheese mixture.

·         Sprinkle your favorite bbq spice rub onto the cream cheese(sticks to the cream cheese very well)

·         Next add the shredded sharp cheddar on top the seasoned cream cheese

·         Top with 2 shrimps

·         Wrap your half strip a bacon around the jalapeno and secure with toothpick

Cooking:

Add to the grill on indirect heat, the poppers will be done when the bacon is cooked through and crispy.
I cooked mine for 45 min on a 250 degree BBQ.

OPTIONAL:  5 minutes before removing from heat lightly brush BBQ sauce to poppers for an added component.
