First week of Fall is upon us, leaves or turning, the nights
cooler and pumpkins are starting to show up at the local market. I love this season! This calls for a celebration, and with any
good celebration we need a round of shots!!!!
I ran across this shot recipe for Pumpkin Pie Shots! Nothing and I mean nothing sound more "Fallish”
then pumpkin pie.
We are actually infusing Vodka here so this is going to take
at least a week.
What we need:
- A pumpkin pie actual just the filling not the crust
- Vodka
- Cinnamon
- Mason jar (or two) w/lids
Directions:
- Literally scoop the pie filling in a blender with 2 cups of vodka, and about 1 tablespoon of cinnamon and blend
- Once you have blended it all together, pour into the mason jars seal and store them in the refrigerator for least one week. The longer it sits the stronger the flavor. Also the longer it sits the better it masks the alcohol taste.
- Shake the bottle one daily.
- At the end of a week or two use a colander to sieve to rid the mixture of any large chunks.
- If you are looking for more of a pumpkin pie infused liquid instead of a creamy pie shot then squeeze your mixture through cheese cloth and filter 2 or 3 times. (Great for pumpkin martinis)
- Sugar the rim of the shot glass with Brown sugar, spoon in mixture and top with whipped cream and enjoy.
